This long distance chauffeur route from Bristol to Cardiff covers around 45 miles via the M4 over the Severn crossing, and the nature of the journey has shifted since December 2018 when the toll was scrapped. It is no longer a charged journey but just a straightforward motorway trip, and the two cities act more like neighbours because of that.
Journeys fall into three categories: business journeys between the two business hubs, traffic for the events heading west for rugby matches and concerts, and journeys to the airport using Bristol Airport for services not offered by Cardiff.
Bristol to Cardiff
The direct train between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central is fast and frequent, and for a straightforward city-centre meeting, it's a good choice.
It's weaker for two other kinds of trip. An airport run doesn't start or finish at a station, so it needs a transfer at one end or both. And event traffic peaks exactly when trains are most crowded and least pleasant, often with a group in tow.
Worth knowing for Cardiff itself: Wales' default 20mph limit on residential streets means the final mile into the city takes longer than the distance suggests, whichever direction you're travelling.
Provide the address, date and time for both. In the case of an event, consider whether a day booking suits you better than one way. Compare chauffeur service in Bristol and chauffeur service in Cardiff for a full day. Airport transfers in Cardiff should be taken into consideration if there is a flight involved.
