This is quite a journey, about 200 miles down the M6 and M40, and one of our longer long distance chauffeur transfers. Manchester is actually the busiest airport in the UK outside London and flies many long haul flights. But there are always some routes that don’t connect elsewhere because of specific airline, alliance connections, etc.
So this is a carefully calculated journey. People who make this journey have usually compared all the options and decided that the connection is more important than the distance.
Manchester to Heathrow
There's a train option here too. Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston is fast and comfortable, and the Elizabeth line covers the rest of the way to the airport.
The middle of the journey is the catch: getting from Euston to Farringdon to join the Elizabeth line means not one change but two, plus a walk with all your luggage. Altogether it's about three hours fifteen minutes against three and a half by road - a saving of only fifteen minutes for the trouble of two changes across London.
It makes even less sense for more than one traveller: four tickets against one car, and four cases to manage over two platforms. And before around seven in the morning, no train reaches the airport in time regardless.
Pickup location, terminal name, time and date of pickup, as well as flight number for pick-up must be specified. The route and collection are typically arranged simultaneously. For Manchester Airport, consider local Manchester airport transfers; for Heathrow Airport, select Heathrow terminal transfers; and for Gatwick Airport, choose Manchester to Gatwick transfers.
